Nevis (Nik) Ezelle Hagler, 77, of Pearland
Nevis (Nik) Ezelle Hagler, 77, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on April 6, 2021 after a well-fought battle with lung cancer.
Nik was born in Center, Texas on May 31, 1943. He graduated from Center High School and then continued his education with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Florida.
Nik worked as a professor at Mississippi State University (Starkville, MS), Southern State College (Magnolia, AR), Iowa State University (Ames, IA), and Houston Baptist University (Houston, TX). He then fulfilled his dream of becoming a professional actor, acting in a variety of films and television productions, as well as stage productions through the years (see IMDb). Nik also served on the SAG/AFTRA Foundation Dale Scholarship Committee and served as President of the Houston local SAG/AFTRA office and 8th Vice President Regional Branch for SAG/AFTRA. Nik was also an avid golfer.
Nik is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan Hagler, his daughter Kim Lovelace and husband Chris, his grandchildren Kayla & Cooper Lovelace and Morgan & Lindsey McGee, as well as other family and friends.
Nik is preceded in death by his parents, Nevis and Martha Francis Hagler, daughter Lisa McGee, and brother Larry Hagler.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him!
